Collection: Birds in Art
Birds have been drawn for as long as people have drawn anything. An Egyptian workman sketched a sparrow on a limestone flake three thousand years ago; Thomas Bewick cut his robin into boxwood in 1797; Audubon painted his flamingo life-size in 1838. Each mug names the work, its date and the collection that holds it.
